JazzFest Debut Series is dedicated to showcasing the talents of new and rising artists from around the country. Twenty-four year-old Gerald Clayton and his trio navigate an original repertoire that encompasses early 1960’s soul and chamber jazz, the American Songbook and harmonic and rhythmic structures that underpin 21st century musical invention.
Grandson of jazz legend Doc Cheatham, trumpeter and Oberlin graduate Theo Croker received the Presser Music Foundation Award in 2006 and tours internationally with his sextet.
